This week we have been on the air again, specifically on the Cadena Ser programme “De las Ondas a la Red”, talking about the importance of the Silver Economy and ambitious social projects such as zocaalo and IOANNA. The CEO of Ideable, Iñaki Bartolomé, had an interesting chat with “Hoy por Hoy Bilbao” journalist, Azul Tejerina, in which the potential of a platform such as zocaalo was explained, as well as the importance of using new technologies to promote the active ageing of the elderly. Last September, the international event AAL Forum was held at the Euskalduna Conference Centre in Bilbao from 24th to 26th and Ideable, Tecnalia, iHomeLab and Exthex, some of the partners from zocaalo participated there. In fact, Ideable and Exthex participated in a workshop in the AAL Forum that was organized the 26th. In that workshop, both companies described the goals of the zocaalo platform and the main aspects of the certification process, as shown in the picture below. The most interesting points for the audience were the possibility of getting help on how to design accessible apps for the elderly users and the access to possible end-users to test those apps before being launched to the market.
Our partner COOSS was one of the organizers of the INNOV-AGING event held in Ancona (Italy) on the 21-23 of June. COOSS presented zocaalo as an opportunity for software developers to certify the apps they are developing for the Silver Economy. And apart from that, they can also receive help on how to properly design apps for this target and even appear in our marketplace as a better way to reach new clients. Ideable will pitch zocaalo in the first AAL2Business Venture Academy (Vienna, 6 June 2018). Ideable, in its Kwido Department, focused on eldercare and technology, is developing zocaalo with other European partners under the AAL Programme. Ideable will be presenting zocaalo in Vienna as a marketplace of certified apps for the elderly people. Ideable presented the zocaalo project in its stand, receiving feedback from many companies, especially from: Public organizations interested in certified apps for the elderly users. Startups that need a certified seal of accessibility for the eldercare sector. End users’ organizations willing to be a part of our testing and co-creation ecosystem. Iñaki Bartolomé, from Ideable Solutions, took advantage of his presentation at the Aging Bilbao event to present the zocaalo project. Cofunded by the AAL programme, zocaalo is a set of utilities that seek to reach a widespread uptake of mobile applications oriented to the elderly. The audience that attended the event was able to know firsthand general project services and tools such as: The availability of a set of building blocks and accessibility and usability guides for the developers of apps. The specific field marketplace that allows developers to obtain a greater diffusion of the solutions developed. A consultancy on the regulation of the EU member states to be fulfilled in order to obtain the relevant certifications. The certification process
On April 24th, the Bizkaia Aretoa will be the headquarters of the Aging Bilbao , a day addressed to tele-assistance professionals, elderly care and Silver Economy sector organized by Ideable Solutions with the collaboration of Provincial Council of Bizkaia . The aim of Aging Bilbao is to show all those involved in the work with elderly people, and even these same elderly people, the present and future innovations and technologies related to the so-called Silver Economy. Aging Bilbao is the most important state event held so far focused on the application of technology and innovation to improve the quality of life of older people.
