Ideable will be present at the next AAL Forum to be held in Coimbra (Portugal, October 2-4) featuring platforms zocaalo and kwido in its own stand. The Active and Assisted Living (AAL) programme funds projects in public-private partnership in the field of information and communication technology (ICT). Iñaki Bartolomé, from Ideable Solutions, took advantage of his presentation at the Aging Bilbao event to present the zocaalo project. Cofunded by the AAL programme, zocaalo is a set of utilities that seek to reach a widespread uptake of mobile applications oriented to the elderly. The audience that attended the event was able to know firsthand general project services and tools such as: The availability of a set of building blocks and accessibility and usability guides for the developers of apps. The specific field marketplace that allows developers to obtain a greater diffusion of the solutions developed. On April 24th, the Bizkaia Aretoa will be the headquarters of the Aging Bilbao , a day addressed to tele-assistance professionals, elderly care and Silver Economy sector organized by Ideable Solutions with the collaboration of Provincial Council of Bizkaia . The aim of Aging Bilbao is to show all those involved in the work with elderly people, and even these same elderly people, the present and future innovations and technologies related to the so-called Silver Economy. Aging Bilbao is the most important state event held so far focused on the application of technology and innovation to improve the quality of life of older people.
All partners of the zocaalo project met on January 19th to advance the development of the project in its different aspects. The overall scope of the project was revised to focus efforts towards the creation of a platform that could support a market segment that would bring together apps developers, ICT companies and the AAL community. The platform zocaalo consists on a marketplace of applications oriented to the elderly where a certification process allows to determine if an application is valid and usable for older people, basing the decision on different criteria and dimensions and granting the seal of confidence zocaalo in case of surpassing the process.
